Welcome to Chilean Cuisine – Cooking Classes Chile
Where tradition meets travelers.
Chilean Cuisine was the first company in Chile dedicated entirely to teaching local cooking to international visitors. Since 2008, we’ve welcomed curious food lovers from all over the world into our kitchen in Valparaíso, sharing recipes, stories, and unforgettable flavors.
Over the years, our classes have earned a place in the Tripadvisor Hall of Fame and have been featured in blogs and travel articles across the globe. What makes us special? We focus on what we like to call comfort food with soul — traditional Chilean dishes passed down through generations, full of warmth and history.
In 2021, Chilean Cuisine became part of G & D South America SpA, the team behind Valparaíso Wine Tours, Street Art Tours in Valpo and Santiago, and other locally rooted travel experiences. With new hands and fresh eyes, we spoke with over a hundred past guests to understand how we could take the experience to the next level — and what we heard was clear.
We needed to show the world that Chilean food is not just delicious, but truly unique. Influenced by our history as Chile’s first cosmopolitan port city, our dishes carry traces of European traditions blended with local ingredients and regional flavors. So, we reimagined the entire class structure to reflect that.
We now offer four different types of classes, each designed to showcase a different side of Chilean cuisine — from cozy home classics to elevated dishes and premium wine pairings. Guests can even take more than one class if they’d like to explore deeper.
Our experience with wine began back in 2007, when we launched the first wine tours from Valparaíso. Today, with a certified sommelier on our team and nearly two decades of experience, we’ve added a special private pairing class, where participants can taste some of Chile’s finest boutique wines alongside thoughtfully prepared dishes.
